Davis Daniels was the first secretary of the Northern Territory Council for Aboriginal Rights. He was from Roper River and was employed as an orderly at the Darwin Hospital. Davis' denial of union rates in this job was probably one of the factors leading to the formation of the Northern Territory Council for Aboriginal Rights. With his brother Dexter and Phillip Roberts he played an important supporting role in the dispute which led to the walk off from Wave Hill in 1966.
